Anayvelyse Allen-Mossman





Bio


Anayvelyse Allen-Mossman (New York, 1991) is a writer, translator, and educator. She dedicates her workdays to nonprofit grants research and writing, with some freelance Spanish/French/English translation on the side. As a translator, her body of work primarily focuses on Latin American narrative and poetry—at the moment, she is bringing the collected works of the Argentine poet Juana Bignozzi into English. She also enjoys translating academic and public interest articles on occasion. For the better part of a decade, she taught Spanish language, translation, and Latin American Cultural Studies at colleges and universities around New York. In 2021, she received her Ph.D. in Latin American and Iberian Cultures from Columbia University with a dissertation on image-making and labor in Argentina's sugar belt.
